It is five to twelve for the Dutch moorland sheep herds. The Dinamo Fund is sounding the alarm: without immediate action, the shepherds, their flocks and our unique heath landscape that they have maintained for centuries will disappear. The Netherlands still has only 88 flocks and some 200 professional shepherds. They perform crucial landscape and nature management, but now have their backs against the wall.
The Sallandse Heuvelrug national park, located in the heart of Overijssel, is a breathtaking nature reserve with a rich history and invaluable ecological value. This vast landscape, formed by rolling hills, vast moors and lush forests, provides an oasis for rare flora and fauna rarely found elsewhere.
